Let's impeach him! why? Because of the following reasons:
1. He blames America to diminish its standing in the world.
2. Allows Tax increases to pursuit his stated goals.
3. He will watch over the end of traditional marriage
4. He will silence conservatives through the Fairness Doctrine damaging free speech for all Americans
5. He will pullback in the war on Terror that will embolden our enemies.
6. He will usher in leftist judicial activism by nominating judges who disregard the Constitution in favor of legislation from the bench.
7. He will minimize government efforts to secure our borders while exposing our nation to more illegal, criminal and terrorist crossings at our borders
8. He will sign into law a plan to give amnesty and taxpayer supported benefits to millions of illegal aliens, launching the largest increase in illegal immigration in our nation's history. We will loose our nation.
9. He will oversee a reduction in the U. S. military while persuing a radical agenda of nuclear disarmament as part of an overall strategy that leaves our country more vulnerable to terrorist attack.
10. He will codify into law the theory of global warming costing taxpayers billions of dollars and placing an enormous burden on the U.S. economy (we will pay taxes not to breath, but to exhale).
And 11 more reasons that I will post later. (See Grassfire.org).
AMERICA, wake up! ana impeach him!

No, we're not "patriotic only when our guy is in charge," but military retreat, unilateral surrender, choosing to pay millions of dollars to the families of 9-11 victims instead of tracking down and destroying their muderers, and whining to us that "War in not the Answer"--these are not patriotism in action. The fact is that War IS the Answer, the only one that works.

Obama is not qualified to be president, he should never have been permitted on the ballot, because he is not a naturalized citizen. He lies routinely. How is he defending and protecting the Constitution, when he's constantly undermining it by the unconstitutional appointment of Senator Hillary to Secy. of State? The present administration is already the most corrupt in history.

It's not simply liberalism that we despise--that nonsensical affront to liberty that will always be defeated in the marketplace of ideas. No, it's the underhanded, downright illegal, and vicious tactics that Democrat politicians resort to in order to have their way. And the hypocrisy. Democrats hold hearing after hearing over the legal actions of President Bush in firing attorneys who refused to enforce voter fraud cases, but these same leftists were silent when Clinton fired all of them, and they have nothing critical to say about Obama's illegal appointment of Clinton. There is no moral authority in liberalism--none!

okay.. i am not completly all about pollitics
but one i thing that i do know is that you guys should give obama a chance to change.. if over half of you voted for him how come you guys are even thinking about impeaching him? he diserves a chance if you dont think so then mabey you should try running for president. and see how easy you people think it is to change the world in just a few months? i voted for mr. obama and im all for his changes. you never know these days people are and do believe in miracles so if you think of the feature too much and you dont believe that his ways or what he thinks might be best for the country we live in.. then why did you vote for him? the magority of americans voted for him obviously.. why the sudden change of mind?

alright well i belive that the impeachment of Obama is totally acting as just another excuse towards Americans giving up and following to find another leader. We HAD so much hope in him being elected, that a DEMOCRAT someone who could make a change without arrogancy, So far he has brought us to peace with many countries, and is only trying to make a difference. I do understand that many things are going on in the world, but things as we know it aren't getting any better. Natural resources, plainly are only getting lower and lower. YET we still use them. The ozone steadily is thinning and decreasing YET we still continue to find certain things and/or people to blame the cause of only OURSELVES on! It's ridiculous. As a nation, even as PEOPLE standing together is the only thing that keeps us apart from being anything less that America.

Comment on The Chip on Philip Pullman’s Shoulder by Elizabeth Tuck

Wow that's some of the most misguided commentary I've ever read. Your quote "Dust is a big deal in the books though you never understand why" is amazing when you consider that the concept of Dust and the importance of it integral to understanding the entire trilogy. If you never managed to get that then it's no surprise that you didn't get much out of the series. I imagine it is a little tricky for some of the younger readers to grasp but if my middle school aged daughter could figure it out I would expect an adult to have no problem with understanding it.

Pullman may very well have a chip on his shoulders about certain things but I can't agree with your analysis. There's no sign that Pullman hates god. A more accurate statement might be that he doesn't believe in god, and that he is critical of what society does in the name of god. The series is not in fact about god at all. He very clear states that the Authority in the book is not god and never was despite what others call him. The real theme of the books is not god or religion as much as it's about free will.

One of his major themes is how people try to do the right thing without having a reliable map of what the right thing is. They can follow what their parents or their society tells them (following an authority) but they don't have a guarantee that this is 'right' either. It's not a world like Tolkein's or Lewis's in which the good and evil characters are obvious and no one could mistake them for anything other than what they are. Instead it's more like our world where people have motives and agendas that are less black and white and more gray.

It's about living your life and making choices while trying to figure out what the moral choice is and whether you can trust the dominant viewpoint or whether you should question it. If Pullman has a message he's trying to beat over your head it's to not give away your freewill by blindly following the doctrines of other authorities, whether its the authority of your parents, your school, organized religion, or a government. That's really what the various adventures of Lyra and Will are about. They repeatedly set out to find one authority or another thinking that this is going to be the answer but in the end they have to make their own choices, some of which are right and some of which are wrong.
