Why is Sarah Palin still talking to the media?
Remember when Sarah Palin acted like she was victimized by the entire MSM because of a few blogs? I guess she got over it, because now she won’t shut up. In the last week, she’s been interviewed by Greta Van Susteran, Matt Lauer, Wolf Blitzer, Larry King…have I missed anyone?
I get it. Palin wants to run for President in 2012, but no wellspring of media access will change the fact that she is woefully unprepared for the office. She needs to go back to Alaska and bury her head in some books for the next 2 years. For starters, I suggest a grammar book.
For the last 2 months, the Palin candidacy unhinged the GOP. Her popularity drove rally attendance. But she couldn’t handle falling poll numbers and went off message with William Ayers — an act of political desperation — turning the rallies into a cesspool of bigotry & hatespeak. That’s the quality she brings out in the party & the country, and it looks like she has no intention of letting up.
Andrew Sullivan has a pretty damning indictment of her candidacy, and plans to continue his unapologetic anti-Palin obsession post-election. Good:
This deluded and delusional woman still doesn’t understand what happened to her; still has no self-awareness; and has never been forced to accept her obvious limitations. She cannot keep even the most trivial story straight; she repeats untruths with a ferocity and calm that is reserved only to the clinically unhinged; she has the educational level of a high school drop-out; and regards ignorance as some kind of achievement. It is excruciating to watch her - but more excruciating to watch those who feel obliged to defend her.
